ABOUT FRENCH VALLEY VINEYARD

French Valley Vineyard, located on 70 picturesque acres in the heart of Leelanau County, benefits from the temperature-regulating effects of nearby Lake Michigan. This unique geographical location is ideal for fruit production, especially for grapevines, which are protected from extreme winter temperatures by the lake’s insulating “Lake Effect” snow. Since planting our first French varietals in 2000, we have expanded our vineyard to include Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Frontenac Gris, and Marquette. Additionally, we have planted an orchard of Montmorency cherries, using the juice from both grapes and cherries to produce our award-winning estate-grown wines.

Our beautifully restored two-story Amish-crafted barn, complete with wrought iron details and hand-hewn beams, is the perfect venue for weddings, family reunions, graduation parties, and more, offering stunning views of cherry orchards and farmland. The transformation of our warehouse into a unique tasting room and wine cellar was completed in 2020, featuring apple box walls, vintage touches, and a four-season pavilion. In 2022, we installed our first hops poles and plan to add a microbrewery to our constantly evolving estate. We also host live music events, creating a lively and inviting atmosphere for our guests to enjoy the beautiful surroundings while listening to local talent.

Drink & Food Summary

Our food menu offers a variety of delicious options, featuring locally sourced ingredients. Enjoy a Charcuterie Board for 2-3 people, with an assortment of meats, cheeses, olives, dried fruits, and nuts, or try one of our flavorful flatbreads including Pesto, Fig and Goat Cheese, and classic Pizza. We also offer a creamy Boursin Cheese Dip, Warm Olives, and an Amish-made Soft Pretzel. Kids can choose from Cheese or Pepperoni Pizza or Chicken Nuggets, served with juice and a side. Pair your meal with non-alcoholic beverages like Faygo, Coke, Diet Coke, and Vernors. Kitchen will close 30 minutes prior to winery closing.
