As a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy and a classically trained musician, Doc Probes earned his way through medical school playing the bassoon in symphony orchestras. His life-long passion for music has taken him down many roads. Along with his powerful vocal strength, he plays guitar, bouzouki, mandolin, concertina, bass and keyboards. He has performed for 20 years from coast to coast.
Doc plays in several ensembles: Doc & Donna Probes, Cherry Blossom Ramblers Family Band, Doc Probes & the David Chown Trio. He formerly performed with Peter Paul & Mary Remembered.
When not pursuing his love of music, Dr. Lawrence M. Probes, M.D. has helped thousands of patients during his distinguished career as a Psychiatrist. He received his medical school training at the University of Texas and served in private practice for 25 years. He is now a staff psychiatrist for Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services in Traverse City, Michigan.
